I was born 1959 in Leeds, Yorkshire, I spent 5 years in East Africa between the ages of 8 and 13. I studied art at Jacob Kramer College in Leeds.
I moved to Lincolnshire in 1986 and after attending night classes in pottery I fell in love with the process of ceramic work. After five years of study I set up my own studio pottery in a brick shed in the back garden!
I have always had a fascination for symbolism and myth.
The figures and plaques I make have a fantasy/mythical theme. They are all hand built using earthenware or stoneware clays. Each piece of work is unique and evolves its own personality during the process.
All Stoneware pieces are hand glazed and fired to stoneware temperatures making them suitable for display inside or outside. Angels are frost resistant too even though they are Earthenware.
My work is available at; Watersedge Visitors centre, Art and Soul, Flemingate Centre, Beverley and Ideally Different Cleethorpes Also online from my etsy shop www.etsy.com/uk/shop/pentanglepottery I attend craft and pottery events in the local area and nationally I enjoy leading a variety of clay workshops in galleries and schools for both children and adults giving an opportunity to work creatively with clay.
